I am not sure how much success I'll have with this, or even how to measure the successfulness of it, but we begin. I went to Amazon this morning and bought a book on teaching kids to golf. My hope is not that I can get my girls on the PGA tour, but that somehow we can find a way to connect through something that we all enjoy.
I think they're ready, at least Jada is anyway. She's 8 years old, pretty tall for her age, and pretty coordinated. With her the issue will be her patience and, let's face it, mine. I haven't yet found a good teaching approach with her whether it be sports related, or even homework related. But I have a few years on her so I will leave it to me to devise a method.
With her six year old sister Sarah, I see less complications. She is the personification of a happy kid, and will really take to learning how to hit a golf ball. I just don't know if she'll be interested in improving beyond some rudimentary level.
But we'll begin.
